ChatGPT has enhanced its functionality by integrating with popular cloud storage services. Users on ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise plans can now effortlessly load files directly from Google Drive and both versions of Microsoft OneDrive into their conversations. This integration supports all common file types, including documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, making it easier than ever to manage files within ChatGPT.

Easy Connection and Disconnection

Connecting your cloud storage to ChatGPT is straightforward. Users can simply click on the paper clip icon in the prompt window or navigate to 'Connected Apps' in the ChatGPT Settings to link their storage services. Disconnecting is just as easy, ensuring that users can manage their integrations without hassle.

Understanding File Limits and Retention

ChatGPT imposes specific limitations and usage caps on files from cloud storage services to ensure smooth operation. For instance, files are capped at 512MB each, and text documents have a token limit. Importantly, file retention varies by plan, with files being retained only for the duration of an active conversation and a short period thereafter, depending on the user's subscription plan.

Security and Privacy in the Forefront

OpenAI is committed to user privacy and data security. Files from enterprise users are not used to train models, adhering strictly to OpenAI’s Enterprise Privacy policies. Moreover, users need to ensure they have the necessary permissions enabled if they are part of an organization, as restrictions may apply based on admin settings.
